Before I wrote the book Vilinska kri, I dreamed of having a boutique where I would sell all the magical things you can dream of.Beautiful crocheted mandalas, blankets, dresses and small things.The name of this boutique is MALJA'S MAGIC BOX (MALJINA SKRINJICA).And now I have it, it's on a stand and I put it wherever I want. My little magical shop, where you can buy things crocheted by Aunt Malja and her friends. 😃

Ninenaj

Before Alenka became a writer, she used to sing to her children. When her first child was born, she sang him a lullaby, that you can hear on this CD (Are you sleeping yet? or How we fall asleep in Slovenia (KDFS 003, 2006)), created under the mentorship of Katarina Juvančič. Students of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana collected and recorded audio recordings of the lullabies, ways of falling asleep, and testimonies about their meaning for the interlocutors. People sang the lullabies from memory or in the actual circumstances of putting children to sleep.
